However, if you use some simple methods you can easily remove stains and clean your microwave oven. Here are just a few tricks and DIY solutions to quickly and easily clean the microwave.

Clean the oven with lemon juice

You need 1 whole lemon, a bowl that can be used in a microwave oven, a clean cloth or paper towel. Pour half a cup of water in the bowl, cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice, then put the squeezed lemon halves into the bowl over the lemon juice. Turn on the microwave at full power and leave the bowl in for 3 minutes, or until the water boils. Do not open the oven door, just simply let the steam do its work in there for 5 minutes. Remove the bowl and use the paper towel to clean the microwave from top to bottom. If it’s equipped with a glass turntable, remove it and wash it and them move on to cleaning the walls. If you find it hard to remove particles of food or stubborn stains, soak the cloth in the lemon juice and rub over the aggravated area.

Clean the oven with vinegar

The same recipe can be as effective to remove dry food particles and old grease stains. All you have to do is add water to the bowl along with 2 tablespoons of vinegar and a few drops of essential lemon oil and then place the bowl in the microwave. The steam of water and vinegar will dissolve stains from the microwave oven walls and it also make it easier for you to remove the debris with a clean towel. The steam coming from the vinegar will also sanitize your microwave oven, so make sure to use this method on a day to day basis.

Clean the oven with baking soda

Prepare a paste of baking soda and water, in which you can add a few drops of essential lemon oil or grated lemon peel to remove odors. Baking soda is an affordable and natural solution that everyone can use in order to clean small kitchen appliances. Rub this mixture onto the walls of the microwave oven and leave it on for 5 minutes, then remove and rinse with a dry or damp cloth. The best part about using baking soda to clean your microwave oven is the fact that it also helps get rid of unpleasant cooking smells.
